I want to continue playing with you all on XIV. On release day (or for those of you who reserved the CE like myself) we should pick a server to play on together. Just a thought! ^^
I talked about this with Selan a while back and he mentioned possibly going to Kefka server. (From what I gather they're named for Final Fantasy villains.)
(Definitely don't want Sephiroth server. Personally, I'd rather go for like Golbez or such.)
i'd like to go to a less popular villain too, but not so unpopular it's barely populated and we'd eventually get forced into a server merge.

Zeri, the Leves are on a 48 hour lockout. All of them. You're almost forced to play other hands and do all of the Leves. That seems fine to me.

I've created Nulani Tacraya on Cornelia. I'm not all too pleased with the surname, so I might recreate. Stupid Squeenix, not permitting t'Acraya. *Grumble. Also have Ryasche Aschen on Melmond.

met up with kets, ryu, and nul on Cornelia. Gridania to be specific...had a great time. Been trying out all 3 toon slots in all towns and I'm probably going to start retail in limsa or ul'dah since i'll be playing either glad and backing it up with armor/black
not sure how i feel about crafting...these minigames are fun in the short term but figure they'll get old real quick
where are you all at? I been playing since alpha and there's def been tons of improvements.. i am currently on wutai..but i guess i will make another char or something to join ya all ... wherever you may be...

I confess, I haven't spent a whole lot of time playing since that first day... I've had stuff I wanted to do in XI, and all the beta stuff will get wiped out anyway... Plus, I don't want to spoil ALL of the surprise! I mainly just wanted to find out if it would run on my pc (it does, though I have to crank down some settings more than I would like :(

Anyways, beta ends Sunday! I wonder if the open beta server names are the same as the retail names! We need to get organised come next Wednesday! (Well, for those that got the CE... XD)
ok so most of my time was testing out graphics and machanics. 2 PCs almost identical, one with an nvidia 9800gtx, other with an ati 3870.
Tried every setting from ugly to best, and the resulting frame rates were the same... give or take a 2-3 frame difference. In the end I
left everything on high DoF/ AC off at 1600x900 windowed. Full screen does help a little tho. A lot of people with newer cards had the same crappy frame rates in towns and better on the field. We should be used to that ;) This was beta tho' and I just don't think it was
optimized well and it may never be. Hopefully drivers can help a little in the future. Also don't have RAM with different timings/speed installed.
Pay attention to detail:
Character creation has more depth than you may initially think. Each base face for a race changes the rest of customization options like eyes,nose, mouth, scars/tattoos/tails.
For anyone that hasn't tried the beta, everything is pretty much through the main menu. If you're scratching your head on trying to check or activate something...check the menu.
I just got the email that my game copy will be arriving today! I'll see you guys on Cornelia tonight! I got a couple hours to figure out a good name...

Honestly can't say I'm surprised. And the scary thing is, the second wave of people hasn't even hit yet.

I think the general goal for everyone in the CE early start should be to get their main DoW class out of the lvl 1 camp asap, lvl 10 if possible ;D
I was just looking at all the different classes on the website. What classes is everyone starting out with? I can't decide... a few of them look fun to me =) Can't wait til my game gets here!!!
right now a big problem is that they shut out cornelia. I can't even make my alt. guess we'll see what happens on the 30th.
maj you can pretty much start off with anything. you'll be able to mix and match skills from different jobs onto your main basically making your own class.

They're having entirely too many crowding issues already...
Hey Maj, you'll probably end up lvling more than one class just to get certain class abilities from them before settling on a main. I for one lvld conj 4, marauder 10, and pug 6 just for their healing abilities. I've settled on maining lancer and have it @12 atm.
If you're like ketsu...who's maining archer, there's not a whole lot of cross class skills you need other than some dmg boosters, since you rain death from afar.
One things for certain crafting if just for the sake of repairing equipment seems almost a necessity. While the NPC repair can take any equipment except accessories to 75%, the cost increases exponentially as you get higher equip (10k+ to repair my lvl 13 body piece). Lvling leatherworking is now allowing me to repair the same body piece for just the cost of mats (480gil).
We can't go to Cornelia >.> sadness.
I've heard it's a congestion issue and people that were not able to create on cornelia at one point were able to later in the day
I can't really play the game with my current compy anyway. It's super laggy until I get a better one, which is hopefully soon.
I would definitely say to keep trying to get in, the server's definitely not totally full. I've seen people from the Standard Edition which came out yesterday! Maybe they're just trying to limit the influx. Not sure why Cornelia is seemingly popular... *kicks some people off the server*

It seems like they are trying to implement some sort of proactive load-balancing solution so that when one world gets past a certain ceiling threshold number of characters above the average world's number, it gets its account creation suspended until the other servers' character numbers have raised high enough that this server has dropped below the floor threshold of characters above the average world's number. It's nice that they finally (sort of) explained what was going on.

pretty empty these days. Something to do with nobody recruiting I'm sure :p We're all in a shell called Diamond Adventurer, though we're all still registered in Lucky so you should see us! I'm on pretty frequently, gimme a tell and I can get you a pearl!
Well 1.21 has landed with jobs. I've gone in to start pld. Also server mergers coming up. I pray 2.0 fairs better then the first launch and hey you'll be able to be a manthra or lady galka.
