My favorite of all time is the Snickerdoodle. What the heck is a snickerdoodle, you might ask? It's a kind of sugar cookie with lots of cinnamon, and it's delicious! I only get to eat them a few times a year, though.. they aren't as popular as the common chocolate chip ; ;

So, I'm here at work, and I keep getting distracted by one of my coworkers. He keeps falling asleep at his desk. I'm finding it pretty hard to keep my mind on my work when I'm constantly glancing over as his head bobs...

Just for fun, I've decided to start writing some short stories based in/around Vana'diel. Starring, of course, myself (write your own darned stories if you want to be the star!). These stories are going to go back to my newbie days as a new adventurer in Windurst, and aren't going to be based on my real (play) history.

Anyway, I'd like to include Lucky linkshell and some of the people in it. To do that, I'd need to take some license with your character and names, which I won't do unless I get your permission.

If you want to see your name/character in a story, please reply here and let me know! I won't use any names without your ok, so don't worry. I'd also like to get a short character bio from you, to make things a little more accurate. Get as in-depth as you like, with personality quirks, style of speach (are you a taru who rhymes? Arre you a Mithrra who rrrols her "rrrr'''s? that kind of thing) favorite foods, hobbies, whatever you might like to see in the story! I may not use it all, and I may not use your character right away, but I'd try to run whatever I put in the story past you before "publishing" it (actually, just posting it here).

Since I'm going "back in time" and doing an alternate history, these stories won't have any real bearing on what's going on in-game at this time. So, tell me what job you'd like me to write you as, since that's where you're starting out

Well, I've got a few minutes left before I leave work to catch the bus, so here's a post to waste some time.
After seeing people call me "gorrila" in linkshell chat, and hearing my name brutally massacred in Vent (Selan: Q_Q), it occurred to me: "ZOMGAH! People are mis-pronouncing my name!!!?!"

Now, this isn't something that bugs me at all (I'm too laid back for it to bother me) but I thought I'd just mention how I pronounce my name since I'm doing a time-wasting post anyway, and kill 2 colibri with one charm... or something like that... 

Anyway, the way I pronounce "Zerila" is with the first two syllables really fast, so that it almost sounds like "ZREE-lah". ZEH-ree is how I pronounce my nickname, Zeri.

If you get this wrong in Vent, it's not like I'm going to get annoyed or anything

Now that I've cleared that up... how do you pronounce your character name? Like, Areya, I know your name isn't "area", and I've been pronouncing it "ah-REY-ah", but is that how you want it?

Thanks to Bobz and Ketsu, I'm now rank 7. But I'd like to be rank 10 eventually (heck, I've only been playing for 3.5 years ^^;). Would anyone be interested in helping me out with the remaining missions?

Hey, all! Lord of the Beasts linkshell on Shiva server is trying to put together a cross-server event to introduce people to the Beastmaster job, and to have fun. There are a couple of ways this will happen. They're trying to see if SE will allow a temporary "event" migration, or if that falls through, you can sign up on the LotB website and request a world pass. Create a mule, and they'll run you through as many events as is possible. I'm actually pretty excited about it!

I've been kicking this idea around in the back of my head for a while now. What I want to do is get a group of people together to just do fun/amusing/silly stuff. I'm thinking like plays, comedy routines, fireworks shows, etc. I was planning on using one or both of my tarutaru mules, Minjiji and Rapscallion, to do this. Would anyone be interested in joining me? I'm sure this would be a blast, and would bring some joy to the people of vana'diel

I'll be popping in every day to check my chocobo and plants, but I won't be doing any actual PLAYING until I'm done with FFXII. No spoilers, but I'm really enjoying it so far 

What with one thing and another, mainly some personal drama and the fact that I'm working incredible amounts of overtime, I need to take a break for a couple weeks. Have no fear, I'll be back once things calm down ^^

Here is a short story that I wrote a while ago, thought I'd share it. I wrote it back when I was soloing goblin's pets in Gustav tunnel, which is great xp, but very high risk
Anyway, hope you enjoy!

The Scene:
Gustav Tunnel, early morning, Firesday. A Goblin Shepherd named Boblix is wandering around, looking confused. Another Goblin Shepherd named Hansblix walks up to him and strikes up a conversation:

Hansblix: Hey Boblix, how's it going?
Boblix: Not bad, not bad. Say, have you seen my pet leech around?
Hansblix: Can't say that I have, sorry
Boblix: Oh, well. Thanks anyway. I guess I'd better summon another one, then

*Boblix uses Call Beast, Goblin's Leech appears*

Leech: Daddy!
Boblix: Damn, these things get weirder every day
Hansblix: You're telling me! And more expensive, too!
Boblix: Yeah, I bet Pricegougelix is making a fortune off of these jugs
Hansblix: Yeah, I should have taken up crafting, but it always seemed so tedious
Boblix: What, like this isn't? All we do is wander around all day!

*Goblin Alchemist wanders up and casts Protect III on Hansblix*

Hansblix: Thanks, buddy!
Goblin Alchemist: Hey, don't mention it

*Goblin Alchemist wanders away aimlessly*

Boblix, muttering: Yeah, don't bother casting that on me, I'm fine
Hansblix: Hey... where'd your leech go?
Boblix: Argh! Not again! Where did that little bugger go?
Hansblix: I don't know, man. I didn't see it leave or anything
Boblix: well, doesn't that just... HEY! Hansblix, your leech just got attacked!
Hansblix: What?!
Boblix: No, seriously, this lizard came out of nowhere and hit it, then ran away!
Hansblix: Dammit! Doesn't that just take the cake! Did you see where it went?
Boblix: Yeah, follow me

Both goblins head towards the tunnel that leads towards the upper levels of Gustav tunnels. As they get closer, they hear sounds of fighting.  

Boblix: Well, stuff me with rice and call me a sushi roll, would you look at that?
Hansblix: What the heck is going on here? Why is that lizard beating the crap out of my leech?
Boblix: Look up the ridge a little higher. You see that figure up there?
Hansblix: Yeah... What is that?
Boblix: Unless I miss my guess, that's a Beastmaster like us. Only this one is a Mithra.
Hansblix: Hah, look at her! She's not even fighting! She's just resting while her pet does all the work!
Boblix: Heheh... wanna go wake her up?
Hansblix: Yeah... Let's go get her!
Boblix, shouting to the surrounding goblins: Hey, guys, we got company!

Several goblins in addition to the two Shepherds roar in fury and charge up the hill, pausing momentarily to kill the lizard that was chomping on Hansblix's leech. The Mithra Beastmaster gives one startled look at the enraged goblins pounding up the tunnel towards her, scrambles to her feet, and starts running.

Boblix: After her! She's making a break for it!

At the top of the tunnel, an Elvaan Paladin is waiting for the rest of his group to show up. He sees the Mithra bolt by, followed by a Goblin Alchemist. Not realizing that there was a goblin conga line coming up the hill, the Elvaan decides to be brave and leaps between the Mithra and the Goblin, Provoking it.

Elvaan Paladin: Don't worry, I'll save you!

Then the rest of the goblins come bolting up the tunnel just in time to see the Paladin provoke the Alchemist. Boblix and Hansblix keep following the Mithran Beastmaster, but goblins are equal opportunity thugs, and the rest of them turned towards this new target with glee

Elvaan Paladin: Oh, snap!!

*Elvaan Paladin uses Invincible and runs towards Valkurm Dunes, screaming like a little girl*

Meanwhile, in the tunnel leading to Cape Terrigan, Boblix and Hansblix are still chasing the Mithra

Boblix, panting: Dang, she's fast
Hansblix, also panting: Yeah... she is
Boblix: I think... yeah, she just made it out of the tunnel
Hansblix stops running, and leans against the wall to recover his breath
Boblix: Ah... don't you want to chase her?
Hansblix: Heck, no! It's hot as a #$@% out there!

Both goblins take a couple of minutes to recover their breath.

Boblix: So, um... what do you want to do now?
Hansblix: I dunno. Want to go back downstairs and wander around aimlessly for a while?
Boblix: Sure, ok.

And that is the sort-of true story behind the last day of my xp'ing off of Goblin's Leeches in Gustav Tunnel

note: names have been changed to protect the innocent... and because I thought "Hansblix" was kinda funny
